Aaron McCullough BVSc
Veterinarian
Aaron grew up on a Sheep and Beef farm in Rangitata. He graduated from Massey University in 2001. Since then he has worked in intensive mixed animal practice in New Zealand (North Otago and Waikato) and the U.K. Aaron spent 2 years traveling before returning to Geraldine in 2007. Aaron enjoys all aspects of his veterinary work. He is very interested in helping farmers to improve on farm efficiency and profitability through monitoring programmes to help improve animal health and performance. These programmes identify areas on farm which help to improve reproductive performance, reduce mastitis incidence etc. thereby increasing farm revenue. Aaron also has a strong interest in orthpaedic surgery in cats and dogs.
He’s got three hard case little girls who love hunting, fishing and riding their bikes, just like their dad.

Sally Duncan BVSc
Veterinarian
Sally joined us as a new graduate in 2009 and has been part of the team ever since. During that time Sally has gained a lot of experience and respect as a top-notch vet, both in production animal work and companion animals. She has a special interest in dairy production and is an In-Calf and Healthy Hoof advisor.

Peter Crawford BVSc
Veterinarian
Pete joined Aorangi Vets in 2017. Since Graduating from Massey in 2003, he has spent time as a mixed animal vet in Oamaru, Australia and the UK. In 2008 he returned to Timaru, and since then has been working in another local vet clinic for 9 and a half years primarily as a Farm animal veterinarian. His main areas of interest and expertise are in Dairy, Sheep, Beef and Deer farming. Days when not Scanning or calving cows, enjoys farm consultancy and drawing up detailed animal health plans for sheep beef and deer farmers. On days off he enjoys spending time with his young family. He has a farm in Cannington where he grazes young dairy stock, breed cows, fatten steers and has a small but productive ewe flock. He works in with his manager and oversee the day to day running of the enterprise.

He is passionate about anything farming with interests in preventative medicine, nutrition, reproduction and improving farm profitability. Recently he has gained membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Dairy Medicine. Away from work he tries to get outside as much as possible spending time hiking, hunting and fishing. Although he watches the odd rugby game his sport is ice hockey and from time to time he will be following the action from afar.

Neroli graduated from Massey in 2012, and since then worked as a dairy and small animal vet in Ashburton for six and a half years, before coming to Aorangi. She has a real interest in dairy cows, dairy production medicine and small animal medicine. She is currently working towards her masters by distance learning through Massey. Outside of work she enjoys getting into the hills and trail running, mountain biking, road biking and skiing.

She has a real interest in dairy cows, dairy production medicine and small animal medicine. She is currently working towards her masters by distance learning through Massey. Meg Catherwood BVSc

Meg graduated from Massey University in 1993 and has since worked in mixed animal practices in NZ and the UK. She joined Aorangi Vets in 1998 and has been with us ever since. Meg has a vast amount of experience in all areas of Veterinary medicine and is a huge asset to our team. She has a special interest in caring for the welfare of elderly pets. In her 'spare time', Meg juggles three busy school aged children and countless volunteer roles in our community.

Sarah graduated from Massey university in 2003, and worked in a large mixed/dairy practise in Southland for 7 years, before her passion for horses took her into equine practice in Ashburton for a few years. Sarah was born and raised near Orari, and with her husband and two young sons has recently moved back to the area to be involved in the family farming business. She enjoys the variety of mixed practice, but has a particular passion for dairy herd health and preventative medicine, and equine sport horse medicine and reproduction. When she is not at the clinic, she is busy looking after her two small boys, helping her husband on the farm, and when she gets time show jumping her own horses.

Emily McGimpsey BVSc
Veterinarian
Emily grew up on a farm in West Otago. She graduated from Massey University in 2018 and joined Aorangi Vets as a new graduate. She hit the ground running and is now skilled in both production and companion animal work. When not vetting, Emily is a keen kayaker and has recently returned from an epic paddling
adventure in South Africa.

Kate Gardiner VN
Clinic Manager
Kate has come to us from Richmond, Nelson. Kate studied through Otago Polytechnic, completing the National Certificate in Animal Care in 2010 and the National Certificate in Veterinary Nursing in 2011. Before coming to us she spent 2 years at a mixed animal practice, where she learnt a wealth of knowledge about animals, large & small.
Kate has a very handsome & friendly German Shepherd X called ‘Plank’ who came with his name as he is a rescue dog. She has an interest in baking, gardening & motorbikes.

Carol Seaton
Vet Nurse / Receptionist
Carol is a long-standing member of Aorangi Vets who enjoys all aspects of the job. (Do you think she will mind if we say she has been with us for over 40 years?!) After all this time, she is still working on the art of organising the vets. During her weekends Carol enjoys hunting and fishing – in contrast to saving animals. Basketball, golf, gardening and running a cattery keep her busy. Its a wonder she has time for work!

Brooke Wilkins

Brooke has a background in office work, a certificate in Office Management and was running her own business before joining Aorangi in 2019. A self-confessed ‘crazy cat lady’, Brooke has always had an interest in animal care. Brooke is an important part of our office and companion animal care teams and is also enjoying getting to know our farming clients, and learning the ins and outs of a pair of overalls.

Amy Lalonde RVT

Amy graduated in 2002 with a diploma in Veterinary Technology from St. Lawrence College in Canada. She has been living on and off in NZ for the past 10 years. She has one dog, one cat and one rooster. In her spare time she loves going tramping, biking, baking and going to the movies.

Malcolm Wood
Rural Technician
Malcolm grew up in Maungati on a Sheep, Beef and Deer farm. He’s worked as a Wool classer, a Carpenter and spent 19 years Dairy farming, 15 of those as an owner/Sharemilker in Geraldine. He ‘retired’ from dairy farming in 2019 and lasted about two weeks before getting bored and joining our calf disbudding team then taking a full time job as a Rural Technician. Malcolm is married to Peg and they have two teenage children and a hard-case Jack Russel. When he’s not on the sideline of the kid’s sports games he’s off in the wilds, hunting, biking, boating or fishing.

Robyn Hall, BVSc

Robyn had an idyllic childhood, growing up in a pub in Roxburgh – also home of the famous ‘Jimmy’s pie’.
She helped to fund her way through Vet School by milking cows, graduating in 2016. After working in a mixed practice in Ashburton for two and a half years, she joined the Aorangi vet team. Robyn enjoys working with Companion animals and Dairy Cattle, with a special interest in pathology and cytology – i.e she’s our laboratory nerd. When not at work she is a keen power lifter and self-confessed cat lover.

Casey Daniell
Rural Technician/Vet Nurse
Casey grew up in Orari on a lifestyle block and attended Geraldine High School. She spent her weekends and holidays working on local dairy farms before going off to Otago Polytech. At otago she studied vet nursing and rural animal technology.
Casey joined our clinic in 2019 as a Vet Nurse and Rural Technician.
Casey spends her off time chilling at home with her cat Phoenix, going on outdoor adventures and taming wild kittens.

When she’s not on the end of the phone she can be found at the local watering hole and is a regular on the pub quiz team, specializing in random useless facts and top notch banter. She also has a weird dog called Milo.

Helena joined our team in 2020 and was just in time for Level 4 lockdown due to COVID. She was an important member of our Small Animal Emergency team during lockdown and has since been getting out on farm to put her large animal skills into practice. Helena is interested in all areas of Veterinary care and is looking forward to getting to know our clients in the coming spring.
